I’m Ciaran, a PhD student at the Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering at the University of Glasgow, supervised by Aleksandra Vuckovic. I graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2018 with an MEng degree in Biomedical Engineering. You can find out more about my background in my CV.

My research is mostly focused on brain-computer interfaces, or BCIs, a type of communication system that allows people to interact with computers and devices without moving. I’m interested in applying BCIs in a medical context. For example, BCIs can be used by paralysed people to better control their environment, or even to improve their condition through BCI rehabilitation therapy.

I am currently a visiting PhD student at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong.

If you’re interested discussing research, collaborating, or would like access to my bimanual motor imagery dataset, do get in touch.
